Imaginative travellers could find that India is a great destination for their next holiday after Simon Calder suggested that the country is now more accessible than ever.
Mr Calder has given his opinions on a number of television programmes for the BBC, CNN and GMTV and is the current senior travel editor for the Independent.
He stated that heading east would be wise for those in search of a unique holiday experience as travelling across the world is very affordable.
"India is very accessible in terms of airfares," he said, before adding that trips to locations in China, Vietnam and New Zealand also offer good value for money.
However, he told imaginative explorers that "any country has vast amounts to discover".
In addition, he explained that those looking for family holidays might want to consider an expedition across Venezuela, which is proving popular at the moment.
Furthermore, Mr Calder said that trips to Morocco, Turkey and Egypt are great for travellers who want sun, sea and sand.
