Laos could be the perfect holiday destination for romantic explorers, Travel Indochina has suggested.
According to Lonely Planet, the country has earned cult status among imaginative travellers who love the location for its relaxing atmosphere and immaculate environment.
Travel Indochina agrees, stating that it could also be ideal for lovers heading out on a trip for Valentine's Day.
It explained that the country's Luang Prabang, which is also a Unesco World Heritage site, offers "stunning sunsets over the Mekong River, al fresco paper lantern-lit restaurants and fabulous spas for pure indulgence".
Furthermore, travellers can take in the spectacular sites of "French-Indochinese architecture sitting side by side with Buddhist Temples" and "palm-lined riverbanks framed by the rising peak of Mount Phousi".
Other great attractions in the south-east Asian city, the firm suggested, include the National Museum, local markets, Kuan Si Falls and the nearby bear sanctuary.
Travellers to Laos may also wish to visit Vieng Xai, Nam Ha Npa and Phonsavan, Lonely Planet advises.
