The number of Britons taking family adventure holidays in Malaysia this year could be set to surge, following comments from Expedia.
According to the firm's director of product management Jonathan Cudworth, travellers are expected to spend more on flights to long-haul destinations in 2010 as it means they will be able to get better value for money when it comes to accommodation.
He went on to suggest a number of possible far-flung locations for imaginative explorers to head to when seeking action holidays.
"The Far East - such as Malaysia, Borneo and Indonesia - are growing in popularity with adventurous Brits keen to get more for their money during their hard-earned break," Mr Cudworth said.
Lonely Planet advises that people heading to Malaysia may want to explore Penang or Pulau Langkawi.
Mr Cudworth added that there are currently plenty of good value-for-money trips on offer, which makes it easier for holidaymakers to travel to places they have always wanted to visit.
