Those looking to head on their honeymoon to places off the beaten track may benefit from cutting back on their actual wedding celebrations to save money for an exciting trip abroad, it has been suggested.
According to Francesca Moore, spokeswoman for wedding service Hitched, there are methods couple can use to ensure they have enough cash for the all-important exotic honeymoon.
"Cutting back on other parts of the wedding such as making your own wedding invitations, opting for a smaller wedding venue, or going for a buffet over a three-course meal might count towards saving for that ... once in a life time honeymoon," she said.
It was also advised that newlywed travellers may also wish to go on a shorter break than is traditionally taken post wedding celebrations, before saving up for an even bigger imaginative traveller experience later in the year.
Earlier this month, former England cricketer Mark Ramprakash told the Sun that he honeymooned in Mauritius, just off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. He said it will always be a special place for him.
