Travellers urged to try Prague for shopping

Monday, November 16, 2009

Imaginative travellers who want to go on a shopping trip with a difference have been advised to head to Prague by Czech Tourism.

A spokesperson for the authority spoke of the wide range of shops and stores that are on offer for visitors who fancy treating themselves to some retail therapy.

He encouraged travellers to visit the famous Christmas markets over the festive period, while also keeping an eye out for Parizska - a street well known for its luxurious shopping experience.

For those who enjoy a bit of extravagance from time-to-time, he gave a number of examples of stores to visit.

"If people want something special, they should visit some of the Czech fashion designers' boutiques – for example Klara Nademlynska, Tatiana Kovarikova, Timoure et group [and] Hana Stocklassova," he said.

According to Post Office Travel Services, Prague offers good value for money for shoppers, with research showing presents that are perfect for Christmas could be nine per cent cheaper there compared to Paris.
