A European tour to Poland could be perfect for music and history lovers alike, with the opening of a new museum expected in 2010 - Chopin Year. This year, the country is celebrating the life and works of the famous musician Frederic Chopin and as part of the festivities the Chopin Museum in Warsaw is being renovated. It will house the world's largest collection of his printed scores, iconography, musical manuscripts, correspondence, personal items and biographical works.
The Alpine resort of Val d'Isere is set to show off its appreciation of culture this month with a celebration of international cuisine, which may interest imaginative travellers with a love of food. Although it is mostly known for hosting sporting events and being one of the most popular ski locations for adventure holidays, Val d'Isere will hold the Pistes Gourmandes 2010 festival from March 15th to 20th. According to the resort, the event "aims to increase awareness of organic farming, fair trade and sustainable development as well as delighting foodies and their tastebuds".
