A small group holiday on Skyros Island in Greece could be the perfect way for circles of friends to "be a part of it all".
Tour operator Skyros explains that 2010 offers a particularly good opportunity for a celebration, due to the fact that Easter on the Roman calendar coincides with the Greek festival of Pascha.
"Easter is, for the Greeks, the most sacred and celebrated religious festival," the company advises.
"It combines the religious with the country's pagan past and the ancient festivities celebrating the rebirth of nature."
Easter on Skyros includes Thursday's honouring of the crucifixion, processions lamenting Christ's death on Good Friday and a celebration of the Resurrection on Saturday night as the clock nears midnight.
The celebrations promise a community atmosphere that could be particularly welcoming on a small group holiday - unlike more family-focused events like Christmas.
Holidaymakers considering a visit to Greece are told by the Greek National Tourism Organisation that its diversity of biology and culture combine to make an attractive destination for tourists heading to the country.
