Singapore could be the ideal destination for any self-respecting imaginative explorer this September.
As well as the natural beauty of the region, it is also home to a brand-new Formula 1 circuit.
In 2010, this hosts the tour from September 24th to 26th for practice, qualifying and race days.
Eunice Yeo, area director of northern Europe for the Singapore Tourism Board, says: "Visitors could potentially leave their desks on a Friday night, experience all the thrills of Singapore during the F1 race weekend and be back at their desks on Monday."
The tourism body adds that anyone who attends the full weekend could find they are able to access discounts to cut the cost of their vacation.
Meanwhile, the attractions for imaginative explorers include two new resorts to discover, Resorts World Sentosa - which includes a Universal Studios - and Marina Bay Sands.
Lonely Planet suggests that food is the "number one drawcard" in Singapore, which could make it a stand-out destination for gastronomic travellers.
