Imaginative travellers hoping to find inspiration for their next European tour may want to consider Slovenia, after details of the annual Wild Flower Festival were announced.
The event is set to take place from May 22nd to June 5th in the country's Triglav National Park near Bohinj and aims to celebrate the beauty of flowers.
According to Just Slovenia, the "beautiful alpine region of Slovenia will welcome visitors who come to savour nature's seasonal transformation, as the valley floor, mountain meadows, wetlands, moors and forests become covered with spring colours".
In addition, visitors and keen botanists will also get the chance to take part in various workshops, including how to collect and prepare edible plants, go on guided tours on horseback, browse craft markets and take a look at photographic and art exhibitions.
Lonely Planet suggests travellers heading to the area to stop off at Lake Bohinj and Logarska Dolina.
