Imaginative travellers with some money to spend have been encouraged by Partnership Travel to take advantage of everything India has to offer when going on holiday. The company's Tim Durham explained that increasing numbers of explorers have been booking trips to the country for the festive season and spoke about the factors that he believed made India such a popular location.
Imaginative travellers who want to travel in style are putting more emphasis on spending money on experience rather than luxurious hotels, according to the show director at the Luxury Travel Fair. Chris Gallon, speaking at this year's event at the London Olympia, commented that despite the current economic climate, luxury holidaymakers will still have money to spend and are most likely to head to Europe. Additionally, he believes that richer explorers will choose hotels that offer something different or boutique hotels, in a bid to have a greater experience.
Imaginative explorers and backpackers have been told by Lonely Planet that travelling in India offers value for money. For those wanting to visit country in style travel editor Tom Hall advised that the cost of staying in luxurious hotels and eating in magnificent restaurants is relatively low compared to in Britain. In addition, he said that adventure bound backpackers heading to Goa and Pushkar who do not want such luxury will see their money go a long way, with some fresh meals available on the street for the equivalent of 30 pence.
