Egypt tours to the White Med "offer relaxation and culture"
Tuesday, February 09, 2010
Imaginative explorers looking for somewhere unique for their next holiday may want to consider Egypt's White Med region.
According to Khaled Ramy, director of the Egyptian State Tourist Office, the area runs from El Alamein up to the borders with Libya to Soloum and has been popular with Egyptian travellers.
Now, he explained, the provision of new flights from the UK will make the region more accessible to British holidaymakers.
Mr Ramy stated that the White Med could be an ideal destination due to its "beautiful shores, crystal clear waters, leisure, water sports, relaxation plus culture".
He added that imaginative travellers staying in the location have the chance to visit Alexandria, El Alamein, Cairo, the Pyramids and the desert, as well as the opportunity to reside in luxurious hotels.
This may be of interest to the growing numbers of people planning on travelling this year.
Research from Wanderlust and Aito recently showed that 83 per cent of respondents are hoping to take at least the same number of trips in 2010 as in 2009.
