Taking a holiday in Africa's Kaya Mawa resort on Likoma Island could offer travellers "a rather idyllic few days", a travel writer has said.
Located four kilometres from the shores of Mozambique, but forming part of Malawi, "places to relax, enjoy time with your family and think about what's really important in life don't get much nicer than this little corner of Africa", explained Will Hide in the Times.
The island is situated in the middle of a lake and the beaches of fine, powdery sand surprised Mr Hide.
Accommodation in the resort consists of ten teak cottages, of which most have their own pontoon on the lakeside.
Travellers looking for some adventure on their holiday can take part in some snorkelling or those wanting to relax will certainly feel at home in the destination, he stated.
Lake Malawi is the third-largest lake in Africa and Kaya Mawa translates into English as "maybe tomorrow".
