Get ready to step back in time and party like it’s 1953. Hang in Havana, get serenaded in Santiago, play in pretty Camaguey, haggle your heart out and sprawl on the beach in Trinidad, learn a bit more about old Che in Santa Clara and hike, drink and enjoy village life in Vinales… Then one last salsa and cigar in Havana and your Cuba’d. In the words of Whitney Houston, “Havana Dance with Somebody”. Ok, she never said that. But find yourself a partner, grab a mojito and let Havana work its magic. You’ll be coming up with clever Cuban puns in no time.

Take time to sit back with a mojito and enjoy the quality people watching - old dudes smoking cigars, ladies dressed in their finest ballgowns and classic cars cruising the streets. It's like Hollywood without the cameras.Get acquainted with HavanaPre-departure meeting in the evening

Santiago de Cuba

It's easy to get your music fix in Santiago. You might head to the Casa de la Trova, a heaving Cuban music-hall that never seems to close. It's just that kind of place.Leave Havana and fly to Holguin, then transfer about 2 hours to Santiago de Cuba.Take a walking tour of this musical, revolutionary citySet off to explore the city on your own during free time

Obviously.Drive past cattle farms, citrus orchards and sugar plantations before arriving in CamagueyGet to know this surprising town, riddled with twisting streets and alleyways

Little alleys with their makeshift markets are the place to haggle for Cuban linen. And if you're a bit artsy fartsy there are heaps of galleries here - also open to negotiation when it comes to price.Drive across the interior to historic Trinidad - quintessential CubaSet off on your own exploration of the townPerhaps climb the bell tower of the central Museo Nacional de la Lucha Contra Bandidos (a former convent) for great views over the old rooftops and surrounding hills. Why not visit some of the great local marketsGet your beach beach fix - it's a short ride in a 'coco taxi'

Santa Clara

Sugar cane fields, tobacco farms and a pretty little village. You can't ask for more than that. Hike, visit the museum and tour the farms over a couple of days here.Visit Vinales, situated in one of the most scenic parts of CubaPerhaps take in the town's cultural centre and museumWhy not set off on some of the hikes in the area

Head back to Havana. Figured out how to smoke a cigar without coughing yet? Now might be your last chance before heading home.In your free time, why not stroll along the malecon (ocean-side walkway) and watch the traditional and modern sides of this enigmatic city unfold before you.At the end of a long day, enjoy a relaxing evening at any of the many bars and clubs while listening to the island's rhythms. It's time for a final night of salsa, hit the streets and celebrate a fantastic adventure.Extra accommodation in Havana is available at the finishing point homestay for this trip.Day 15 is departure day. Most of our travellers like the thought of travelling with a few like-minded souls. There are NO compulsory single supplements on most tours as we simply arrange twin shared accommodation for you and another tour member of the same sex. But don't worry if that doesn't appeal. We do understand there are times when you just want a bit of privacy and 'me' time so we are more than happy to arrange a private room upon request when you book.
