Day 1 - CAIRO

Arrive and check in to your hotel. Later this evening you will have the chance to meet your tour leader and the other members of the tour. (No meals.)

Day 2 - CAIRO

See the treasures in the Egyptian Museum and visit the Great Pyramids & Sphinx at Giza. In the evening we board the first class sleeper train to Luxor. (BD) Approx. 10 hrs train journey

Day 3 - LUXOR

Arrive and transfer to our Nile cruise boat. In the afternoon we travel by horse drawn carriage to Karnak. Evening sound and light show at Karnak (US$28). Overnight in Luxor.(BLD)

Day 4 - LUXOR - NILE CRUISE

This morning make an early start and ride sturdy donkeys to the Valley of the Kings. Return past the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch we set off on our cruise to Edfu. (BLD)

Day 5 - NILE CRUISE

In the morning we visit the temple of Horus before continuing our cruise to Kom Ombo where we visit the riverside temple of Sobek & Haroeris. (BLD)

Day 6 - NILE CRUISE - ASWAN

We journey to Aswan and on arrival the day is free to explore this beautiful vibrant town. Enjoy a Felucca cruise (US$5), or see the sound and light show at Philae temple (US$24). (BLD)

Day 7 - ASWAN

A full free day to explore Aswan with time for excursions to Abu Simbel by bus (US$35 plus US$15 entrance fee), or by air (GBP96 plus US$15 entrance fee). You could also visit Philae Temple, the Aswan High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk (US$24), or take a camel ride to St Simeon's Monastery (US $15). Later this evening, transfer to the railway station for the overnight sleeper train to Cairo. (BD)

Day 8 - CAIRO

Transfer to the hotel. Please note that this tour ends on arrival in Cairo. You may therefore like to consider booking an extra nights accommodation at the end of the tour in Cairo. Please note we do not recommend booking any flights out of Cairo until at least 2pm this afternoon, to allow for any delays. (B)
