There are few places - if any - like it. Here you will encounter fortified mountain villages and remote desert communities, glorious unspoilt beaches and mud brick skyscrapers amid some of the most stunning landscapes in the world.
- See the unique mud skyscrapers of Wadi Hadramaut
- Explore the old walled city of Sana'a
- Follow trails to fortified mountain villages

Travelling mostly in 4WD vehicles you’ll discover a country where traditional methods of agriculture and enterprise are still widely practised and walk mountain trails to stone-built villages and hilltop fortresses. Yemen is renowned for its striking architecture and we’ll see some of the finest examples of stone and mud constructions in the world, like the Imam’s Summer Palace at Wadi Dhar, the mudbuilt towers at Shibam, the hilltop fortress at Kawkaban, fortified villages like Al Hajjarein and the magnificent palace at Seyun. Some places retain a timeless splendour, others are well past their heyday but throughout it will be a journey that fascinates and enthrals.
