Ladakh, also known as Little Tibet, is a rugged and mystical land of snow-capped mountains renowned for it's Buddhist culture. This journey of discovery explores the monasteries, villages and spectacular scenery of the Indus and Nubra Valleys by jeep and on foot. Our adventure begins in Delhi and we then take a spectacular flight over a sea of snow capped Himalayan peaks to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Leh was formerly an important trading post on the crossroads of trade from central Asia, Tibet and India. Today it is the gateway for adventures to explore this remote corner of India.

Ladakh - Little Tibet
We visit Thikse and Shey Monasteries, then travel to the outlying village of Rumbak and we stay with local families, gaining an intimate insight of Ladakhi life. We then head back to Leh before taking a bus over one of the world's highest motorable passes, Khardung La (5359m), and descend on the dramatic Nubra Valley, where we visit Diskit and Hunder Monasteries and have the option of a camel ride in the sand dunes of this mountain wilderness.
