Wildlife holidays were once concentrated mostly on Africa safaris. However as travel becomes easier to remote destinations, new species are discovered and interest in wildlife documentaries grows, an explosion in wildlife holidays covering every continent has occurred. On an Imaginative Traveller wildlife adventure you can enjoy some of these incredible encounters with nature for yourself.
With over 20 years of experience and expert knowledge we make our wildlife adventure holidays very special. Our itineraries reflect decades of client and tour leader feedback and are carefully designed to give adventure travellers the best wildlife experience possible.
With many companies, park fees, permits and local flights are extra. On an Imaginative Traveller wildlife holiday all these are included and clearly listed so you can see exactly how much a trip is going to cost. An exception is the $110 Galapagos National Park Tax and Transit Card which is payable on arrival in US$ cash directly to the park authorities.
An experienced English-speaking guide or crew accompanies every Imaginative Traveller wildlife holiday – chosen not only for their local knowledge, but perhaps more importantly, for their “people skills”. Local guides join us in certain national parks as they are wildlife specialists in their particular fields or areas.
Responsible Travel is at the heart of ALL our adventure holidays. Please see Responsible Travel – ethical safari holidays with Imaginative Traveller
A certain degree of fitness is required for our adventure holidays and some wildlife experiences will be more physical than others though nothing technical will be involved. Please read the detailed trip notes for each tour to gauge the fitness required.
The list is endless – you could be swinging high in Costa Rica on the Monteverde cloud forest canopy walkway, snorkelling with sea lions in the Galapagos, riding elephants in Nepal, canoeing through the Amazon jungle in Peru and Ecuador and trekking through Rwanda’s Parc National des Volcans in search of the mountain gorillas.
How about these for some ‘Imaginative’ flora and fauna experiences: Safari in the little known Khao Sok National Park in Thailand; trek amidst the gelada baboons in Ethiopia’s Simien Mountains; hunt for leopards in Sri Lanka’s Minneriya National Park; track jaguars in Colombia’s Tayrona National Park; fish for piranhas in Brazil’s Pantanal; dive amongst the manta rays of Caye Caulker off the coast of Belize; spot quetzals in Panama; cruise with dolphins from Bali and view giant tortoises on Prison Island, Zanzibar in Tanzania.
Our tailor made adventure holidays will truly inspire and delight the senses and will live in your memory for ever.more info
