The Destination Manager has overall responsibility for the successful and profitable running of all Dragoman’s South, Central and North America trips. They are responsible for delivering quality product and strong sales for their region as well as ensuring the continued smooth operation of Dragoman’s fleet in Latin America.
Initially the successful candidate will receive training over the course of a number of months from the office in the UK, but will then be expected to travel to Peru to set up an office in Cusco and assume full responsibility for the running of the region.
The ideal candidate is someone who has worked as crew on an overland truck with a proven track record and knowledge of this region, communication and computer skills and a detailed understanding of the adventure travel business.
The position is demanding and would suit an independent self-starter who enjoys constant challenges and can make decisions that follow and develop company policy. Although the Destination Manager will be in constant contact with the UK Operations Team, the position is such that they will be ultimately expected to make decisions on the spot and take responsibility for these decisions. Similarly the Destination Manager must be able to manage their time effectively.
