A little bit about Phoebe
Fresh from studying History of Art at university, I've just joined the Tailor Made Team. After too long pulling pints, this is my first 'proper' job, and somehow I got lucky enough to combine my two great loves of travel and writing. The pages of my passport seem embarrassingly blank in comparison to my seasoned colleagues but as seen in the frantic scribblings covering the margins of my desktop notepad, my bucket list is every-growing.
What is your favourite destination?
New Orleans for the music, food and just the soul of the place. Closer to home, Venice is my favourite for a quick getaway.
What has been the most surprising destination you've been to?
Solta near Split, Croatia. A tiny island, I just jumped on the first bus from the port with a bunch of locals going god knows where and ended up in a secluded bay with only one restaurant serving iced pinot and carbonara. A combination of being the only English-speaker there and diving into the sea from the rocks before getting caught in a rainstorm of biblical proportions all made for a memorable surprise. I would go back in a heartbeat.
What has been your favourite or most memorable occasion whilst travelling?
Gracing a renowned Nashville karaoke bar with my rendition of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Senorita’. Or summiting Angel’s Landing in Zion. Or the sunset toy train ride up to Shimla through the foothills of the Himalayas. Maybe actually sleeping under the stars to the sound of coyotes in Monument Valley. Tricky question.
Where is the next destination on your list?
It’s a toss up between either Central or South America.
