Bush Rover

The Bush Rover is a fully-functional and mobile Land Rover that doubles up as a comfortable home for the evening, and is the perfect base from which to set out on stunning game drives in the reserves and national parks of Tanzania – the ultimate African wildlife destination.

Imaginative Traveller are proud to be working with our friends at Bush Rover to provide tailor-made safari holidays. By taking advantage of the mobility and flexibility of the Bush Rover Suite, we can work with you to put together a one-of-a-kind African wildlife adventure.

Award-winning luxury accommodation

Once in-situ, the Bush Rover folds out as graceful as a swallowtail into a stunning home, complete with all the creature comforts you’d expect, including:

  • Solar power to provide light, electricity and hot water
  • A wood-panelled bathroom with a bath, shower, and flush toilet
  • A spacious and comfortable private bedroom with large double bed
  • An elevated viewing balcony offering beautiful views over the plains of Tanzania
  • A private chef who will set up a tented kitchen nearby
  • Space for an evening meal deep in the wilderness

In 2017, the Bush Rover Company was the winner of the National Geographic Traveller Big Sleep Award in the ‘Happy Glampers’ category.

The heart of the action

The key to the perfect safari is being in the right place at the right time – and with the Bush Rover, you’ll always have the best vantage point at the heart of the action. When the wildebeest migrate, so does the Bush Rover, transforming back into a moving vehicle and leaving no footprint.

On our bespoke Bush Rover itineraries, you’ll set up camp in one of two stunning private locations: in the Selous Game Reserve on the stunning Lake Nyamiruba, and in the Serengeti on the Mara River, near a crossing point for migrating wildebeest.

The Bush Rover is your base for exploration and isn’t used for game drives, giving you the freedom and flexibility to head out into the great plains of Tanzania in search of the fantastic wildlife that lives here.

Bespoke wildlife adventures

Whether you want to witness the Great Migration of the wildebeest, the incredible birdlife on the shores of Lake Victoria, or head into the Serengeti for the ultimate safari experience, our experienced tailor-made specialists can help you design the bespoke Bush Rover adventure of a lifetime.

Responsible Travel

The world’s an amazing place and we want to do our bit to keep it that way. That’s why we choose to travel responsibly, giving back to the communities we visit and helping to create a sustainable world for our children. We follow strict guidelines for viewing wildlife, respecting the environments that we visit and ensuring that animal welfare is not compromised in any way.

In 2010, A Tent With A View, the company who co-ordinate our Bush Rover suites, opened the Saadani Wildlife Research Centre in the grounds of its camp in Tanzania. Read all about it here.
