Where you'll be staying

Ocean Endeavour

The largest in our fleet, the Ocean Endeavour offers an unmatched sense of space.  She has plenty of outdoor space on the expansive decks to watch the magnificent scenery go by.  Spacious lounge and bar areas for relaxing with a drink or chatting to fellow travellers.  This ship allows you to be part of it all, or to enjoy Antarctica in quiet solitude.  There are a variety of cabins to choose from offering something for those on a budget, a great value option for solo travellers, and for those who like the finer things; there is something for everyone.

Endeavour is also the only polar expedition ship in Antarctica focused on health and wellness, and offers a contemporary approach to cuisine and newly-designed health and fitness features. Facilities include a spa serviced by organic spa provider VOYA, His & Hers saunas, a salt water pool, a gym, and a juice and smoothie bar. Complimentary activities include yoga and stretching classes, an exclusive Polar Photography program, the Scientists in Residence program, and more adventure activities than any other vessel.

Itinerary & Notes
Welcome to Chile! Puntas Arenas is one of the country’s fastest growing cities and the perfect gateway to your Antarctic expedition. You can arrive at any time today, as there are no activities planned until a welcome meeting tonight, usually around 6 pm. Until then, fly in, transfer to your accommodation and get exploring this slice of Patagonian history. Why not take a visit to the $50 million International Antarctic Center (set to open in 2021) which functions as a research hub and museum for all things Antarctica. After your important briefing tonight, perhaps get together with a few of your fellow travellers for a meal – your local leader will be able to recommend you a restaurant or two.

GROUP TOUR from £4830 for 11 days

HIGHLIGHTS

- This is the extended, 11-day version of our classic Antarctica cruise, perfect for first time explorers or seasoned adventurers. With an extra day on the Antarctic Peninsula, you will experience more of the Great White Continent. (For the classic 10-day version of this trip, see trip code GQMDT or https://www.intrepidtravel.com/antarctica/discover-antarctica-10-days-122184)
- Freezing is great but freedom is better. Customise your trip with a wide range of optional activities on top of regular Zodiac excursions. Explore the water by kayak, sign up for a photography masterclass, rejuvenate with some onboard yoga and a massage, take a refreshing polar plunge or camp overnight like a true polar explorer.
- Whereas most polar expeditions of this kind have a crew-to-passenger ratio of ten, fifteen or twenty to one, Intrepid expeditions on the Ocean Endeavour have an expedition crew member for every 8 passengers for a greater personal touch.
