Trip Overview
Colourful and chaotic, mysterious and exotic - welcome to Rajasthan. Explore the fairytale cities of the desert, travel to beautiful palaces filled with treasures of the maharajah and wander through forts with fascinating histories. Marvel at the grandeur of the Taj Mahal in Agra, travel across the Thar desert on camelback and witness the romantic 'Blue City' of Jodhpur. Be immersed in this intriguing state of India - stay in traditional towns, meet the locals in markets and bazaars, and taste delicious regional dishes. Add a touch of comfort and some very special heritage properties for a true Rajasthani travel adventure.

Please Note: We are aware of maintenance work scheduled at the Taj Mahal complex which is due to last until late 2018. There may be times when there is scaffolding around the building or over the dome but the site is scheduled to remain open for the duration of all works.

Arrive in Delhi, meet your Intrepid representative and transfer to the hotel. Your adventure begins with an important group meeting at 6 pm. You will find more details about this meeting at the hotel reception. Your leader will be collecting insurance and next of kin information at this meeting, so please ensure you bring these details. If you arrive into Delhi with time to spare, perhaps pay a visit to the World Heritage-listed Humayun's Tomb or the 12th-century Qutub Minar. As the former residence of royal families and British soldiers, the Red Fort plays a vital part in Delhi’s history. I thought it was a good tour - right size, exrtremely good guide - liked the special extras - visit to a special school that you support - meal with a local family - Bollywood movie (only choose singing and dancing next time - not comedy without subtitles).
